“Treating the Compromised Patient with Congenitally Missing Teeth” This hands-on treatment planning session is designed to increase understanding of the treatment planning process.  Attendees of this workshop will learn to support multidisciplinary care enabling them to provide the best possible treatment for their patients.  The patient in this case presents with multiple congenitally missing teeth, high lip line, healthy periodontitium, microdontia, mobility on primary tooth C, posterior cross bite right side, and ill fitting provisional teeth # 9-15.  Her chief complaint “My bridge does not match the other side of my mouth.”.

“The Compromised Patient - Full Mouth Periodontal and Restorative Concerns”  This hands-on session is designed to increase the doctor and hygiene staff’s understanding of the treatment planning process together.  Attendees of this workshop will learn to support multidisciplinary care enabling them to provide the best possible treatment for their patients.  This patient presents with AAP Type IV: generalized advanced chronic periodontitis, gingival recession, missing teeth, a fractured tooth, and periapical radiolucencies on endodontically treated teeth.  This 58-year-old male presented with a chief concern regarding the aesthetics and function of his maxillary teeth.  He was seeking a comprehensive evaluation and treatment options to address his dental condition.  He had a history of various extractions, endodontic therapy and selective restorative treatment that had been completed throughout his life.  The patient was willing to consider all treatment options that did not involve a removable prosthesis and wanted to retain as many of his teeth as possible.

Hygienist Treatment Planning

“The Treatment of a Failing Dentition with Lack of Posterior Support”  This hands-on session is designed to increase the hygienist’s understanding of the treatment planning process.  Attendees of this workshop will learn to support multidisciplinary care enabling them to provide the best possible treatment for their patients. This patient presents with: moderate gingivitis with moderate to severe vertical bone loss, no stable occlusal scheme, many structurally compromised teeth, and real-life situations affecting treatment options.  This 79-year-old female’s chief concern was that she had “lost enough teeth and didn’t want to lose any more.” This case features many concerns and treatment limitations to be addressed and will inspire a spirited treatment planning session for hygienists.

This lecture will be a combination of  3 of Mr. Curley’s most popular lectures.  The first two:“Implants: 3-D Imaging and the Legal Failures”, and “The New Dental Office: High Tech Dental Law”, will take place in the morning and will include the entire dental office.  The last topic, “Dental Employment Claims: Wrongful Discharge, Sexual Harassment & Discrimination Issues in the Modern Dental Office” will be limited to members and at the member’s discretion,  their practice managers.
